M_LAB Branding

General Description
For this project, our Design by Nine team was asked to rebrand our Maker Lab’s identity. This Lab is located inside the University of Akron’s art school. The Maker Lab is a room that houses all of the technical design equipment like laser cutters, 3D printers, a vinyl cutter, and a wood cutter. To stay on theme with technicality and the 3D aspect, my design pitch was to create a dimensional icon that incorporated both the “M” for “maker” and “L” for “lab” as well as providing the whole name title. The original colors for this space have always been orange with secondary inclusion of black, so the was decision was to keep those colors. This was one of a few potential redesigns and was not selected as the final choice.
